The Nassarawa State Ministry of Health hereby announces the commencement of sales of Admission forms into School of Basic Midwifery Lafia, for the year 2021/2022 Academic Session as from Tuesday 27th April to Friday 14th May, 2021.

Entrance Examination is on 15th May, 2021.
Admission Requirements
- The Entry Requirements for Nursing Training are as clearly specified by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN); as five (5) Subjects in Sciences Subjects at Credit Level in SSCE, GCE, O’Level from WAEC, NECO. The Relevant Subjects Includes:-
ENGLISH LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICS, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY. - The Subjects should not be offered in more than two sitting.
Duration of the Programmes
a) For basic nursing program, the successful candidates undergo three years of training. The same with Basic Midwifery
b) Other categories are as recommended by the nursing and midwifery council of Nigeria.
Student Sponsorship
Students are self sponsored but state Indigene are given monthly allowance to students on the basic nursing program.
The stipend will automatically cease after the release of the N&MCN professional examination results or if after the student had stayed for three and half years in school for whatever reason or if for any reason, the student discontinues the program with the school.
