All the Schools, Colleges and Institution own by Kaduna State Government are eligible for the scholarship and loan award. These includes;

A. Local Scholarships

  • Merit Based Local Scholarship

Scholarship Description

The Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board have a mandate ‘To identify, select and empower qualified citizens of Kaduna state to meet the current and future manpower requirements of the State while remaining globally competitive’.
Furthermore, the Kaduna State Government is particular about rewarding excellence and hard work for all its citizens.
The Kaduna State Government is interested in giving equal opportunity for access to excellent education to its teeming youth who demonstrate excellent academic credentials.
 Successful candidates must maintain a minimum CGPA of 4.0 of 5.0 or 3.5 of 4.0 at all times.

Scholarship Requirement

  •  A minimum CGPA of 4.0 of 5.0 or 3.5 of 4.0
  • Must be a student who has at least one more semester at the time of disbursement.
  • Must not be a spill over student.
  • Fresh students must provide evidence of Grade B in at least five subjects including Mathematics and English and Grade C for the other subjects taken in WASSCE or NECO in one seating and not later than 2017.

B. Need Based Local Scholarship

 

Scholarship Description

The Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board have a mandate ‘To identify, select and empower qualified citizens of Kaduna state to meet the current and future manpower requirements of the State while remaining globally competitive.

Furthermore, the Kaduna State Government is particular about ensuring that indigent students (poor and needy) have equal access to quality education as a leveler to prosperity.

The Kaduna State Government is determined that only the needy benefits from this type of scholarship. Whoever applies for this scholarship must be ready and willing to provide information on Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Biometric Verification Number (BVN). Applicants with properties must be willing to provide same where available.

Successful candidates should see this as a great leveler that will improve the economic wellbeing of themselves and their family upon graduation. The State also sees this as an opportunity to build the human capacity of Kaduna State to be the best in Africa and one of the best in World. We invite you on board!

Scholarship Requirement

  • A minimum CGPA of 2.0 of 5.0 or 1.6 of 4.0
  • Must be a student who has at least one more semester at the time of disbursement
  •  Must not be a spill over student.
  •  Masters students who have spent more than 2 years or PhD students who have spent more than 4 years need not apply.
  •  All students who just resumed 100 levels, ND1 or HND1 from January, 2020 should apply despite that they do not have any result yet.

** Make sure your parents (both) urgently get their Tax Certificate  immediately
If any of your parents is dead, make sure you have his/her death certificate in place of their Tax Certificate
If any of your parents is a peasant or housewife in any of the urban or rural areas, make sure they get a tax certificate even if they earn as low as N100. Tax offices are in every local government area in Nigeria.

2. LOAN APPLICATIONS

A. Educational Loan Application – Under Graduate

 

Loan Description

The Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board have a mandate ‘To identify, select and empower qualified citizens of Kaduna State to meet the current and future manpower requirements of the State while remaining globally competitive’.

Considering that need based scholarship  is targeted at only the indigent students, limitation of resources, identified priority courses to sponsor and high academic requirements to qualify; this educational loan component is introduced to ensure that no one is left behind. The loan can be applied for undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses and is available for private sector employees, state and federal civil servants who are citizens of Kaduna State

Citizens  of Kaduna State can access up-to 5 Million Naira per sponsor. A student can have a maximum of 2 sponsors. Repayment is over a period of up-to 5 years.

Successful applicants should see this as a great leveler that will ensure that no citizen of Kaduna State is left out of education on account of his/her economic circumstances.

Loan Requirement

  • Only an employed student or a non-employed student’s sponsor (anybody who is willing to collect and repay a loan for the student’s education) can apply.
  • Candidates must have an admission in a tertiary institution.
    Sponsor(s) and the student must be a Citizen of Kaduna State either by residency or by State of Origin.
  • Students or their sponsors must have a consistent source of income that can repay the Loan over a maximum period of 5years.

C. Computer Purchase Education Loan

 

Loan Description

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought with it a lot of disruptions in many of our daily activities including lectures. Tertiary institutions in Kaduna State are responding by continuing academic activities electronically.
Given that e-learning may dominate the Educational Delivery System going forward, the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board has introduced a Computer Purchase Loan Component to its Education Loan Scheme.
Recall that the Kaduna State Government introduced the Education Loan Scheme to enable parents secure education loans for their children’s education. The Education Loan Scheme is in line with the State.
Government’s education mandate to increase access to Education and reduce the population of out of School children to the barest minimum in Kaduna State.
Through the Computer Purchase Loan for students, parents or working students can own a computer immediately and pay gradually at an interest rate of 8%. Please note that in line with the Government’s policy, no cash will be given to the students or their parents.
