Khadija University, Majia, Taura, Jigawa State was licensed to operate as a bonafide and full-fledged private University by the National Universities Commission on 8th April, 2021 to complement the efforts of government in the provision of quality tertiary education in Nigeria.The University will take off with three faculties consisting of nineteen (19) undergraduate programmes.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL ACADEMIC POSITIONS

(A) Assistant Lecturer/Medical Research Fellow/Assistant Librarian:

• Holders of Masters Degree of any recognized institution.
• Holders of B.Sc. Accountancy and ACA/ACCA/ANAN or recognized equivalent qualification for accountancy candidates.
•  First Degree plus internship and NYSC/exemption certificate for graduates with,
  for example, MBBS, B.Pharm.

 

(B) Lecturer II/Librarian II:

• Ph.D. or equivalent qualification recognized by the University in the relevant field.
• Assistant Lecturer in any University for three years with atleast two (2) journal
  articles.
•  Master’s Degree holders with atleast two (2) journal articles and must have
  spent three years in the University.
• Master’s degree in Accountancy plus ACA/ACCA, Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Master’s degree in Medicine.

 

(C) Lecturer I/Librarian:

 

• A Ph.D. holder who has been a Lecturer II for two years and has a sufficient number of admissible publications, totaling a minimum of 5 journal articles and
  2 edited proceedings.
• A holder of Master’s Degree who has been a LecturerII with three years
  University teaching experience and has sufficient number of admissible
  publications totaling a minimum of 5 journal articles and 3 edited proceedings.
• Candidates in Medicine or Dentistry with recognized higher Postgraduate degree (Ph.D).

 

 

(D) Senior Lecturer/Senior Librarian:

• Ph.D. holder, who has a minimum of five years teaching experience at the
  University level Or Three years as a Lecturer I in the University.
• Each with sufficient number of admissible publications, totaling a minimum of 6 journal
  articles and 5 edited proceedings plus strong evidence of potential for continual research activity and academic leadership.

 

(E) Reader/Deputy University Librarian:

• A Ph.D. holder with avminimum of eight years teaching experience at the
  Universityl evel.
• A candidate with a minimum of three years as a Senior Lecturer in the
  University.
• Each with evidence of;

(a) Postgraduate supervision at Ph.D. level, where the program is available.

(b) Considerable background of research with a sufficient number of admissible
publications,totaling a minimum of 40points plus evidence of dissemination of
knowledge through professional and academic activities.

Inaddition, candidate must demonstrate:

(a) General academic leadership and the ability to guide others;

(b) Some administrative experience;

(c) Impeccable integrity; and

(d) Favorable External Assessment.

 

 

(F) Professor/University Librarian:

• A Ph.D. holder with a minimum of ten years teaching experience at the University level.
•  A minimum of three years as a Reader.

 

Each with evidence of:

(a) Continuous productive research activity with the achievement of the status of an
acknowledged authority in the candidates’ area of specialization.

(b) Considerable background of research with a sufficient number of admissible
publications, totaling a minimum of 60points.

Inaddition, candidate must demonstrate:

(a) Dissemination of knowledge through academic and professional activities.

(b) Postgraduate supervision at Ph.D. level, where the program is available.

(c)Academic Leadership and the ability to attract and inspire others.

(d) Administrative experience.

(e) Impeccable integrity.

(f)Favourable External Assessment.
