Nasarawa State House of Assembly Suspends Secret Appointments Of 366 Teachers In Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) has declared the secret appointments of 366 secondary school teachers in the state as fake as due process was not followed.

The chairman of the committee on Education, Daniel Ogazi, disclosed this at a meeting with the management of Ministry of Education and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Lafia.

Ogazi maintained that the House was not against employment of teachers in the state but due process must be follow to ensure that the most qualified candidates are employed.

“We are directing for the suspension of the employments of 366 secondary school teachers in the state.

“We have suspended everything about the teachers appointments since process that brought them was faulting, due procedure was not followed in employing the teachers.
“This directive does not mean that we don’t want employment but due process must be followed for improved standard of education in the state,” he said.

Ogazi has directed the state Teacher’s Service Commission to suspend its advertisement for the recruitment of new secondary school teachers in the state.
“For now, all processes of employment of teachers should be stopped,” the lawmaker added.

He commended the Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Fati Sabo for being up and doing in improving on the standard of education in the state.
