Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) is the implementing agency of the EdoBEST programme, an internationally acclaimed Basic Education Reform Programme which leverages technology and data to accelerate foundational literacy and improve learning outcomes for the Edo child.

EdoSUBEB believes that qualified teachers are the key ingredient necessary for the delivery of quality basic education in public schools and in line with the Executive Governor’s sustainability plan, the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) is seeking applications from qualified, technology-savvy and enthusiastic candidates to join our team.

Available Positions Across All 18 LGAs

Head of Section, Social Mobilization
Head of Section, Quality Assurance
Head of Section, Schools Support Service.
Social Mobilization Officers
Quality Assurance Officers
Learning and Development Officers
Subject/Classroom Teachers

Your objective:

The ideal candidate will be required to implement innovative solutions and methodology in teaching delivery, thereby elevating educational standards in the classroom to expand life options for learners, empower communities and shape the future for the next generation of Edo youth living in all 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State.

What you need to have:

Possess minimum academic and professional requirements for each role.
Unless otherwise stated, possess a minimum of second-class lower degree.
Possess NYSC Certificate/Exemption Letter if required.
Be tech-savvy: comfortable using smartphones, tablets, email and able to maneuver through mobile IT systems/applications.
Not more than 40 years for Teachers and 50 years for Head of Sections (HOS) by December 31, 2024.
Possess excellent problem-solving, people management, verbal and written communication skills.

1. HEAD OF SECTION, SOCIAL MOBILIZATION (HOS, SM)

Key Roles

1. Oversee Social Mobilization Officers
(SMOs) assigned to school cohorts at
the Local Government Areas and
Community levels
2. Monitor and coordinate community
mobilization efforts in the LGA
3. Oversee the implementation of SUBEB
Self-help projects and ensure
collaborative relationship with external
stakeholders and partners.

Qualification(s):

1. Degree in Education, Social Sciences,
Humanities, or any related discipline
2. At least 5 years’ experience in social
mobilization, community development,
or a related role
3. Strong organizational and leadership
skills
4. A Master’s Degree and Other
Qualifications are added advantage

2. HEAD OF SECTION, QUALITY ASSURANCE (HOS, QA)

Key Roles

1. Monitor and coordinate Quality
Assurance Officers
2. Carryout extensive data analysis &
reporting in collaboration with other
departments
3. Establish Quality Assurance procedures,
maintain records and
propose/executes Quality Assurance
projects.

Humanities or any related discipline

monitoring and evaluation in Education
Quality & Assurance or a related role

3. HEAD OF SECTION, SCHOOLS SUPPORT SERVICES (HOS, SSS)

1. Oversee Learning & Development
Officers (LDOs) assigned to school
cohorts at the Local Government Areas
and Community levels
2. Support Head and Class teachers in
assigned LGAs
3. Conduct daily visits to observe and
provide feedback on teaching and
learning processes
4. Collaborate with Co-Curricular
department to improve participation in
co-curricular activities

Qualification(s):

1. B.Ed., B.Sc., B.A., HND (PGDE is a
requisite for non-education
qualification)
2. At least 5 years of cognate experience
in training and development
3. Strong organizational and leadership
skills
4. A Master’s Degree and Other
Qualifications are added advantage

4. SOCIAL MOBILIZATION OFFICER

Key Roles

1. Advance basic education through
community sensitization, engagement,
and advocacy
2. Mobilize resources and develop
training materials for School-Based
Management Committees (SBMCs)
3. Conduct training, mentor and monitor
School-Based Management
Committees (SBMCs)
4. Manage relationship with partners at
the local level, engage with donors,
oversee self-help projects and
contribute to the development &
implementation of School
Development Plans

Qualification(s):

1. B.Sc./B.Ed./LLB, BL/HND Education,
Social Science, Law, Humanities or any
other relevant qualification
2. Master’s degree in any relevant
discipline is an added advantage

3. A good understanding of child rights
laws

5. QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER

Key Roles

1. Drive teacher’s compliance to
educational standards and regulations
2. Conduct school visits, collect
education/learning assessment data,
and flag & resolve issues to maintain
uninterrupted learning
3. Collaborate with educators to provide
constructive feedback, identify areas
for improvement and facilitate
professional development initiatives.

Qualification(s):

1. Degree in Education, Social Sciences,
Humanities or any related discipline
2. Knowledge of quality assurance
processes, tools and approaches
3. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant post-NYSC qualification experience in avteaching role.
4. Additional qualifications will be an
advantage.

6. LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (LDO)

Key Roles

1. Mentor and coach Head and Class
teachers in local government schools
2. Conduct daily visits to observe and
provide feedback on teaching and
learning processes.
3. Utilize data for visibility into daily
practices and provide feedbacks to
the academic team
4. Create action plans and ensure timely
data entry for trainees.

Qualification:

1. B.Ed., B.Sc., B.A., HND (PGDE is a

qualification).
2. At least 2 years cognate experience in
training and development.
3. Strong organizational and leadership
skills.
4. A Master’s Degree and Other

7. JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

CATEGORY A (ENGLISH LANGUAGE)
