Apply for Jigawa State J-AGRO Program 2024
The Rice Millionaire Project is a strategic initiative that aims to address the challenges that hinder youth engagement in agriculture in Jigawa State. The project’s goal is to transform 1,100 young people from eleven federal constituencies into successful entrepreneurs by cultivating one hectare of rice foundation seed. The project has two main objectives:
producing high-quality rice seeds and creating employment opportunities for young people. By creating a supportive ecosystem and providingg necessary resources, the project not only tackles
unemployment but also empowers young individuals to thrive as entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector.
The expected outcome includes the production of 4,400 metric tonnes of certified rice seeds, as well as the creation of 1,100 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs.
Objectives:
1. Empower a total of 1,100 youth across the 11 federal constituencies in Jigawa State.
2. Produce 4,400 metric tonnes of high-quality certified rice seeds to improve agricultural productivity.
3. Create 1,100 millionaires within six months.
4. Provide comprehensive training, inputs, and market linkages to participating youth to develop their skills
and capacities holisticaly.
Eligibility Criteria for Application
To participate in the J-Agro: The Rice Millionaire Project, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Applicants must have a degree or HND in agriculture, specifically in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Economics and Extension, Animal Science, Forestry and Wildife, Fisheries, or Aquaculture.
2. Applicants must be indigene of Jigawa State.
3. Applicants must be 45 years of age or younger.
4. Applicants MUST NOT BE EMPLOYED in any public or private institution.
5. Applicants must have a strong passion for agriculture.
6. Applicants must be able to provide an acceptable guarantor.

Interested and eligible candidates are required to submit their applications through the website of the Jigawa
Empowerment and Employment Agency (JEEA) at https://www.yeea.gov.ng from 12th to 18th February, 2024.
