Welcome to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). The NCDC is the national public health institute with the mandate to lead the prevention, detection and response to infectious disease outbreaks in Nigeria.

Our Core functions Includes:

  • Prevent, detect, and control diseases of public health importance.
  • Coordinate surveillance systems to collect, analyse and interpret data on diseases of public health importance.
  • Support states in responding to small outbreaks and lead the response to large disease outbreaks.
  • Develop and maintain a network of reference and specialised laboratories.
  • Conduct, collate, synthesise, and disseminate public health research to inform policy.
  • Lead Nigeria’s engagement with the international community on diseases of public health relevance

1. Administrative Officers

Essential Criteria

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration or any of the social sciences with at least 3 to 5 years of administrative experience
  2. Proven experience in administrative roles.

3. C19RM Health Product Management and Logistics (HPML) Specialist

Qualifications

Essential: Advanced university degree in pharmacy, medicine or public health.

Experience

Essential:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience working in pharmaceutical management, procurement and supply-chain management of health products at national level,
  2. including:
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing complex PSM situations, managing/mitigating risks related to health products at country, sub-national or international level.
  4. Experience in developing PSM related policies, operational tools, and guidance
  5. Experience in developing partnerships on health product selection, uptake of new technologies, procurement and supply management matters at national or sub-national or international level
  6. Proven track record in leading work streams or teams in multi-cultural environment

Desirable:

  1. Understanding of public health, logistics and molecular diagnostics
  2. Diploma or Certificate in Supply chain management
  3. Master’s in business administration is an added advantage
  4. Experience in both demand and supply side activities related to pharmaceutical management and in particular related to infectious diseases, COVID-19.

 

4. HAI Surveillance Consultant

Essential Criteria

  1. Degree in medicine, nursing, medical laboratory sciences, microbiology, public health, biochemistry or related field from an accredited/recognized university (master’s or doctoral degree preferred) with at least five years of experience implementing IPC programs and conducting HAI surveillance in low- and middle-income countries.
  2. IPC certification, preferably a postgraduate diploma, is highly desirable.
  3. In-depth knowledge of HAI surveillance methods and prevention strategies.
  4. Strong data management, analysis, and reporting skills, particularly specific to surveillance data.
  5. Excellent communication (written and verbal), leadership, and negotiation skills.
  6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy.
  8. Positive and professional attitude, including working independently and in a team setting.
  9. High flexibility and strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, and prioritize.  Can work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.

5. IPC Guideline Development Consultant

Essential Criteria

  1. Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a relevant field (e.g., epidemiology, public health, medicine, microbiology) from an accredited/recognized university with 7 to 10 years of extensive experience in developing guidelines.
  2. IPC certification, preferably a postgraduate diploma, is highly desirable.
  3. Strong understanding of research methodologies, evidence synthesis, and critical appraisal.
  4. Proven track record of successful implementation of evidence-based practices in healthcare settings.
  5. Strong project management abilities.
  6. Detail-oriented with a commitment to scientific rigor.
  7. Experience in building the capacity of others in the area of evidence-based guideline development.
  8. Excellent communication (written and verbal), leadership, and negotiation skills.
  9. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria

6. IPC Project Manager

Essential Criteria

  1. Degree in medicine, nursing, medical laboratory sciences, microbiology, public health, sciences, or related field from an accredited/recognized university with at least 5 years of experience implementing IPC programs in low-middle-income countries.
  2. IPC certification, preferably a postgraduate diploma, is highly desirable.
  3. At least five years of demonstrated project management experience.
  4. Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience.
  5. Experience with and understanding of the Nigerian Health System.   
  6. Demonstrated practical diplomatic skills and the ability to work in close, supportive technical collaboration with individuals from various disciplines and backgrounds and a range of public health partners and stakeholders.
  7. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy.
  8. Positive and professional attitude, including working independently and in a team setting.
  9. High degree of flexibility and strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, and prioritize.  Can work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  10. Certification in Project management tools and statistical analysis package

  6. Proficiency in database management systems, network administration, and cloud technologies.
  7. Good command of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Familiarity with database development, cloud computing and other application packages will be an advantage

Essential Criteria

  1. Bachelor of Science (BSc) in any field with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience is required; MPH or MSc in Biostatics, Public Health, or a related field will be an added advantage. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in similar position[OA1] [PB2]
  2. Familiarity with principles and current approaches to M&E using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  3. Demonstrated M&E field experience; skilled in collecting, synthesizing, and analyzing data.
  4. Experience using data analysis software (for example, SPSS, STATA, Epi Info, R, etc.)
  5. Ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training, mentoring, and other methods.
  6. Good command of Microsoft applications, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  7. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills.
  8. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team of diverse stakeholders.

10. Training Consultants

Essential Criteria

  1. Degree in medicine, nursing, medical laboratory sciences, microbiology, public health, or related field from an accredited/recognized university with at least 5 years of experience implementing IPC programs in low-and middle-income countries. 
  2. IPC certification, preferably a postgraduate diploma, is highly desirable.
  3. Proven experience in facilitating training programs. Experience in IPC training programs preferred. 
  4. Strong knowledge of international and national IPC guidelines and standards.
  5. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy. 
  6. Positive and professional attitude, including working well in a team setting. 
  7. Good Zoom and Microsoft Office command, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Desirable Criteria
