This position is located in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Transfusion Services, Clinical Pathology Department, Fort Gordon, Georgia.

    Mon-Fri 2300-0730 Regular weekend rotation not required for this shift since it already includes
    Friday night. Holiday rotation will apply.
  • Sun-Thu 2300-0730 Regular weekend rotation not required for this shift since it already
    includes Sunday night. Holiday rotation will apply.
  •  Mon-Fri 1500-2330 with weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist you will:

 

Serves in the Blood Bank (Transfusion Services) as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Must have knowledge of clinical theory and the ability to perform routine and advanced procedures that include but are not limited to: ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening, antibody identification, antibody elution studies, RBC antigen typing, direct antiglobulin testing and crossmatching. Testing is performed by both manual and automated methods. Critical thinking skills are required when troubleshooting instrument performance and when working up complex antibody identification.
Knowledge of the following regulatory agencies and how their Standards relate to Transfusion Service operation: FDA, AABB, CAP, and TJC.

Qualifications

US Citizenship required

 

AMT or ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
