Has JAMB open portal for change of institution?
THIS is to inform all the candidates who participated in the 2019 JAMB UTME that the change of JAMB course and/or institution for 2022/2023 Academic Session has commenced.
The change of institution and course are introduced to enable JAMB candidates who already know their scores and have verified the cut-off mark of their choice institutions and to make the necessary changes in their choice of course and institution relative to their UTME scores
If you scored below 180 in the JAMB 2022 Examination and you choose a competitive Institution like the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, University of Benin, UNIBEN, then you can now apply for a less competitive one to increase your chances of admission. Or if you chose a popular/competitive course like Surgery and Medicine, Accounting, etc. And you scored 199 and below, then you really need to apply for change of course and/or institution.
Before you Proceed to Change of Course/Institution, Please Read This:
This is very important. So don’t skip this information. You will not be able to correct any mistake you made hereafter.
- All interested candidates should know the Changes of Course and/or Institution you would like to make changes to.
- You are advised to do your own due diligence to ensure that the school you are changing to, is not on the high side when it comes to cut off marks.
- You can change one or all your courses/institutions at the same time.
- You should note that once the form is submitted, you will NOT be able to make any changes again (unless Jamb has updated this)
- Candidates should opt for course/Institution that aligns with their subject combination. If you don’t do this, your school will screen you out. Check Jamb Syllabus for more info on this.
- Most schools have a lot of candidates already, like University of Ilorin. So be sure you have up to 2 to 4 options, Just in case, your preferred choice is not available, you can take the next option.
How much is JAMB change of course or institution form (Green Card) ?
JAMB change of course scratch card is sold at the rate of Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N2,500.00) only.
How to apply for Jamb Change of Institution or Course 2022 UTME|Direct Entry
According to our reliable source, this process can only be done at an accredited Computer Based Test, (CBT) Centres. (Update: You can now process the change of institution/course via your JAMB Profile.
For 2017 and above to 2022, follow the procedure outlined below to change your data on the JAMB portal.
Step 1: To get started CLICK HERE to log in to Jamb Portal.
Step 2: Scroll down the page and Click on “Correction of Data”
Step 2: Click on Course/Institution tab and click log in to sign in to jamb portal using your email and password.
Step 4: Click on “Make Payment” Note: We are only interested in the “Choice of Institution/Course Correction”
Step 5: Click on the “Pay Now” Please take note of the Transaction ID.
Step 6: Review the details displayed on the Confirmation Page. Also, note the Transaction ID displayed in a bold red font. The Transaction ID is useful for all future references concerning the Transaction. A copy of this transaction ID will be sent to your registered email address.
Step 7: Click on the Continue button and you will be asked to select how you want to pay. (JAMB has the option for paying via Internet banking, Mastercard, Visa, PAGA/POCKETMONI), if you select to pay with your Mastercard, continue with the steps below;
Step 8: On the Interswitch Payment page, enter your card details and click on the Pay button.
Step 9: The status of your payment will be displayed on the “My Payment Section” An SMS and email containing your unique Transaction Identification and payment status will be sent to you after payment. Click on the Continue button.
Step 10: Once payment is completed, you will be asked to provide Year of Exam and JAMB Registration Number.
Step 11: After entering the information correctly, new options for the Preferred course/Institution and second choices will appear. Options available will be based on availability.
Step 12: Click Submit to complete your application.
How to know if your change of institution was successful?
JAMB will now process your application. If Approved, your details will be changed as requested.
Please note the following;
- You can change one or all your courses/institutions at the same time.
- Once the change of course and/or institution form is submitted, you can no longer make any changes again except for change of course and institution that can be done twice.
- There may be a limited number of schools or courses you can change to, so be sure to have up to 4 options, just in case the one you want to change to is not available.
- The cost for the change of course and Data correction is N2,500.
- You can use the one-time payment of N2,500 to change your institution, course, name, date of birth, State, and Local Government of origin.
Closing Date: JAMB Change of Courses / Institution Closes once Admission for the Current Academic Session in the Choice of Institution Ends which will be announced by the Board soon.
JAMB Change of Course And Institution/Data Correction After Admission 2022 Step By Step Procedure
Some candidates have complained about being admitted to another course or institution different from the one they initially applied to study on Jamb Caps. This post is to guide such candidates on what they are supposed to do if they find out that they have been offered admission into a different course or institution.
The first dilemma you will face when you discover such is whether to Accept the admission or Reject it. This is understandable considering that admission into higher institution in Nigeria is not easy to come by. However, do not rush to reject or accept the course immediately. I will advise you do the following;
Consider the course/Institution Carefully
Ask yourself, Do I have the academic aptitude for this new course? How much interest do I have in this course? The reason is that it is hard to study a course you are not interested in. You may have to research on the course to know more about it and what it involves. Often times the reason something is not interesting or appealing is because we know little or nothing about it.
After making the necessary research on the course and you discover that you cannot cope with the academic demands of the course or still not interested in the course, I will advise you reject the course. It is better for you to reject the admission now than end up not being able to graduate because you can’t cope with it.
On the other hand, If you are convinced that you can cope with the academic demands of the course. I will advise that you accept the course. The reason being that, you are not really sure if another admission will be given if you reject this one. Unless of course you do not mind sitting for JAMB next year if no other admission is offered to you.
If it was your institution that was changed, check to know where the school is located. Is it a location you would like to relocate to? What is the schools fees of the institution? What’s the living cost in that state. Knowing the answer to all these will help you decide whether to accept or reject the admission.
Apply For Jamb change of course and institution
Once you have accepted the admission, it is advisable to immediately change your initial course to the new course you have been offered to study. If it is another institution that offered you admission, you have to change your institution to the new one that has offered you admission as first choice. If not, you will be unable to print your Jamb admission letter and the admission will be withdrawn.
If you reject the admission, then you do not have to do anything. Your name will automatically be available in the admission market place for admission consideration.
How much is Jamb change of course and institution / Data Correction Form 2022?
Candidates who are interested in changing their course or institution should take note that cost of the form is Two thousand Five Hundred Naira Only (N2,500).
All the candidates who made mistakes while filling their forms during the 2021 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME Registration that they can now make corrections for the following categories:
- Names Correction (Correction can only be done once)
- Passport Photograph Correction (Correction can only be done once)
- Gender Correction (Correction can only be done once)
- UTME Subjects Correction (Correction can only be done once)
- State/LGA Correction (Correction can only be done once)
- Profile Correction (Correction can only be done once)
- Choice of Institution/Course Correction (Correction can only be done more than once with separate payments)
Before you proceed to do that, please make sure you do the following;
- Be sure of the Course/Institution you would like to make changes. Verify if the course is available in the school using the JAMB Brochure.
- Ensure that the school you are changing to does not usually have a cut off mark higher than your score.
- Most schools have a lot of candidates already, like University of Ilorin. So be sure you have up to 2 to 4 options, Just in case, your preferred choice is not available, you can take the next option.
- Ensure you select a Course/Institution that is in line with your subject combination to avoid being screened out during your school’s admission screening exercise.
- You should note that once the form is submitted, you will NOT be able to make any changes again (unless Jamb has updated this)

Follow the procedure outlined below to effect any of the changes above:
- Go to JAMB portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility_/.
- Login with your Email and Password.
- Click on ‘Registration (2022 only)’ from the list of services on the left side.
- From the drop down, select ‘2022 UTME Data Correction‘.
- Then proceed to payment.
After payment, proceed to either the closest JAMB office or a Jamb accredited centre to complete the process.

For 2021 and years below, follow the procedure outlined below to change your data on JAMB portal.
- Visit JAMB E-facility portal at http://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility/.
- Login with your Email and Password.
- Click on ‘Application for Correction of Data (2021 Downward)’ from the list of services on the left side.
- From the drop down, select the one you wish to correct i.e. Course/Institution, Names, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin .
2022 and years below can effect changes on their own without the CBT centre.
