The Federal School of Medical Laboratory Technology (Science), Jos was established by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health in 1954 at Lagos to provide the much needed middle level manpower requirements in the health sector of Nigerian economy. The School went through metamorphosis. In 1958, the school was officially operational primarily to train Medical Laboratory Technicians at Lagos Pathology Department building and Federal Laboratory Service, Yaba and subsequently upgraded to run a four-year programme for the training of Medical Laboratory Technologists (Scientists) leading to the award of Associate Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology (AIMLT).

The general public and prospective applicants are hereby informed that the sale of admission forms into the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Programme and Special Fellows (FMLSCN) of Federal School of Medical Laboratory Technology (Science), Jos is in progress

 

 

Entry Requirements for Medical Laboratory Technician Programme (MLT) 

GCE/NECO/WAEC and NABTEB with credit in five (5) subjects which must include Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics and Physics obtained at not more than two (2) sittings within a spa ce of 5 years prior to enrolment

Course Duration: 

Three(3)years

Entry Requirements for Special Fellow (FMLSCN) 

Holders of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) Certificate or Associate Certificate of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN) and should have a current practicing license.

Method of Application: 

Application forms are obtained from the Accounts Department of the school upon payment of non-refundable fee of

N8,000.00 for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) 

N10,000 for Special Fellow (FMLSCN) 

Applicants are to obtain the TSA payment procedure from the Accounts Department of the School at the Temporary Site (Old JUTH).
